Poem
Still
A poem
I.
Arrogant egret
Shin deep in benevolence
Hope flickers beneath
Unaware of his color
Refracted on broken panes
His fifth attempt at the same shad
Nothing but water
Nothing but water
II.
Slate slab floor
Bizarre blindness returns
Fireflies spark above
Roosting on weary pilons
Unseen by fading eyes
Head sagging to chest
I see him
I see him
